The Cushman & Wakefield office in Romania concluded last year with 4.5 million EUR in turnover, up by 50% from the end-2006 estimates. The firm mediated transactions worth 200 million EUR and evaluated property worth 1.6 billion EUR.
"Our target for this year is to achieve 8 million EUR in turnover, which would be the equivalent of an 80% growth rate," said General Manager Razvan Gheorghe.
"We started 2007 with approximately 30 professionals and concluded the year with over 70 of them. Market demand prompted the development of certain departments, as well as the establishment of new departments," he added.
In the press release, the company claims to be one of the leading players on the Romanian real estate market. Originally established in 1993 as Activ Consulting, the business was acquired by Cushman & Wakefield in 2007, after having acted as an associate office for 11 years.
