Union members at the Dacia Renault factory in Pitesti have received an improved offer from the management and will consult the employees whether to accept it and discontinue the ongoing strike, NewsIn reports.
"The management made us the following salary offer: a flat 210 lei as of 1 January plus 94 lei as a monthly bonus for the entire year plus 90 lei as of 1 September. The Automobile Dacia Union has asked for time to consider the offer and is asking all employees on strike to participate in consultations tomorrow (i.e. Wednesday) during the first shift," deputy union leader Ion Iordache said. The previous offer was an average increase of 250 lei.
The union will also decide whether to actually hold the rally scheduled for Thursday. In the meantime, the Arges County Court will convene for a new session on the lawsuit filed by the management against the union on the count that the strike is illegal.
Dacia employees went on strike on 24 March after having rejected an offer for a 12% salary raise. In turn, the union made a list of 14 claims including a flat salary raise of 550 lei in two steps, plus bonuses for Easter and Christmas worth 50% of the average gross salary in the company.
