• The two companies, together with Flowtex Technology, will rehabilitate and expand the water distribution and household sewer systems in the towns of Agnita and Dumbrăveni
Dafora Mediaş has teamed up with Hidroconstrucţia SA, which will helm the project, and with Flowtex Technology, concluding a contract worth 22.07 million lei with the company "Apa Târnavei Mari", in order to rehabilitate and expand the water distribution and sewer systems of the towns of Agnita and Dumbrăveni. The European Union will finance 17.82 million lei of the total cost of the project, through the Cohesion Fund. The contract was awarded by open public auction, and will have a duration of 36 months, with the works scheduled to take 24 months and a 12 month period for notifying any execution flaws.
According to a press release by the company, the contract concerns the rehabilitation of a section of 1.317 km of length of the water distribution system of Dumbrăveni and of 6.969 km of the water system of the town of Agnita, the building of two drinking water reservoirs and the expansion of the sewer system of Dumbrăveni, (12.195 km), and Agnita (11.947 km).
The purpose of this project is to eliminate the problems that the two towns were facing with drinking water. The project will help bring the water supply system of the two towns to European standards, by improving the quality of drinking water, and protecting the environment thanks to the use of new piping for collecting household wastewater, made from modern materials with a higher impermeability.
The project will also lead to a reduction of operating and maintenance costs, higher employee safety, and improved standards of living of the towns" inhabitants. The improved infrastructure will also provide the opportunity to attract more investors, by providing them with a modern and functional infrastructure.
This is not the first collaboration between Dafora and Hidroconstrucţia. In the beginning of April, the two companies began the work on the rehabilitation and expansion of the water and sewer systems in the town of Mediaş, in a contract worth 67.2 million lei.
