Drilling and construction company Dafora Medias posted a net profit of 4.19 million RON (1.8 million USD) in the first half of 2006, thus marking a 73.5% increase from 2.4 million RON in the same period last year, according to a company press release.
Turnover rose by 60.47% to 103.62 million RON (44.57 million USD), as compared with 64.57 million RON in the corresponding period of 2006. The positive result is mainly due to the development of the company"s construction business, which currently accounts for 55% of Dafora"s turnover, as compared with 33% in H1/06.
The company plans to increase its share capital from 9.22 million RON to 97.36 million RON. The majority shareholder in Dafora is Gheorghe Caburean with 46.21%, followed by Dafora Grup SA (7.15%) and INV Bank Trust Company (6.62%).Dafora Medias is listed on Rasdaq as DAFR.
