"Dafora" Mediaş (DAFR), controlled by businessman Gheorghe Călburean, has won a framework contract for the drilling of gas and oil wells, worth approximately 23 million Euros, from "Petrom", according to a press release sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The contract will last four years, with the option to be extended for another year.
Company officials have announced that work on the first well, 300E Abramuţ (in the county of Bihor), will be executed with an Italian MR800 model installation, starting with the end of July 2011.
"Dafora" Mediaş has a market capitalization of 101.3 million lei, according to the price of 0.101 lei/share, of yesterday"s trading session. Gheorghe Călburean owns 48.5% of the shares of DAFR.
The shareholders of the company have been summoned for a meeting in early August, to approve the refinancing of the company"s loans, amounting to 15.42 million lei and 21.41 million Euros, "with better financial terms", according to the notice to attend the General Extraordinary Shareholder Meeting.
