The former management of the ASF is guilty of poor supervision of the insurance market, from where important sums have evaporated, claims the social-democratic senator Daniel Zamfir, the president of the Economic, Industries and Services Commission, who, after the scandal caused by the Euroins bankruptcy, summoned to hearings the entire management of the Financial Supervisory Authority, which he reproached for the lack of involvement in the careful monitoring of insurance companies.
Daniel Zamfir declared for the BURSA newspaper: "Consumers rightfully have high expectations from the new management of ASF. I hope that those appointed by the Parliament will ensure the proper functioning of the market, more directly to say that they will not allow the operation of companies that do not meet the conditions provided by the law: the insurers will offer a fair price of RCA and pay, on time, as the law obliges them to, the insured's damages. Unfortunately, in recent years, significant sums of money have been stolen under the eyes of the competent authority, and today we, the consumers, are practically paying all these damages".
