Workshops, concerts and a painting exhibition dedicated to pupils and students will take place at the second edition of the "Dor de Doină" event, scheduled to take place on September 7, at the "Dimitrie Brândza" Botanical Garden in Bucharest. According to the organizers, the Frui Vita Association, "Dor de Doină" aims to bring new generations closer to authentic values and to facilitate the relationship between culture and community. Continuing an approach initiated in 2023, the organizers want to offer young people a sense of identity, belonging and continuity by promoting the Romanian cultural heritage and by bringing traditions to the present, in an event that combines music, visual arts and craft workshops full of inspiration . At the same time, this year the organizers are taking forward the project of the digital handbook about doina created in the first edition and taking a step forward, translating it into English so that it is available internationally to all those who are passionate and interested in the roots, the connections with the ancestors and of the cultural and emotional place where we come from. Ioana-Diana Bogdan-Teaşcă, president of the Frui Vita Association, said: "We live in the digital age, and today we want to honor the doina, a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, to cherish and preserve it in this evolutionary course, enjoying it together with you everyone from this trip in an atypical way, as we did last year. That's why we have prepared a wide range of attractive activities through which we promote heritage, traditions and folklore". During the event, the participants will have the opportunity to celebrate the Romanian doina in a unique melange with artists such as Maria Casandra Hausi and Sorin Romanescu, who will bring the magic of the doina to the fore through the NOD (New Old Doina) project and Argatu, a returning artist on the "Dor de Doină" stage. "I've always wanted to create sounds that touch people's hearts. I'm venturing towards strong pulses" says Argatu, looking forward to the meeting with the public on September 7, when the public will have the opportunity to listen to the new songs from the album released in 2024 - " Treasury".

The organizers have prepared a series of interactive workshops and Romanian crafts where they can get to know the doina and the traditions through music and surprise games. Among the workshops that will be organized at the event are: Interactive workshop for children between the ages of 5 and 13, with games and drawings representing Romanian stories and traditions; Workshop dedicated to explorers "Labyrinth Theater" - a sensory journey to connect with nature; Romanian traditional craft workshop "Vatra Satului sewing chair"; Workshop in which the participants are invited to know and discover how to sew a traditional shirt by practicing this craft on initiation supports; Ceramic modeling workshop through which the objects will be explored visually, but especially tactilely. Participation in the workshops and public access to the events are free.
