DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR, INS: The volume of construction works dropped by 10%

The volume of construction works dropped to six months by 10.2%, as gross series, taking into account the drops in capital repairs' works, by 18.4%, and in the maintenance and current repairs, by 12%, and as adjusted series after the number of working days and seasonality dropped by 9.4%, according to the National Institute of Statistics.

However, the new construction works recorded a drop by 7.7%.

In terms of the engineering constructions, the volume of works dropped by 25.4%, and to the residential and non-residential buildings dropped by 49.6%, respectively by 5.5%.

As adjusted series according to the number of working and seasonality days, the volume of construction works dropped by 9.4%, considering the decrease in the volume of capital repair works, by 18.9%, of the maintenance and current repair works, by 11%, and of the new constructions, by 8%. The engineering constructions recorded a drop by 26.7%, while the works to the residential and non-residential buildings rose by 41.2%, respectively by 6.6%, according to Mediafax.

In June, the constructions' share rose compared to May by 11.5%, as gross series, with rises to the maintenance and current repair works (19.5%), capital repair works (11.7%) and works for the new constructions (8.3%).

The works for the residential buildings dropped by 4%, and by 1.1% for the non-residential buildings, still the engineering constructions rose by 23.5%.

As adjusted series, the volume of constructions was smaller by 2.6% than the former month.

Compared to June 2013, the constructions recorded a drop by 13% as gross series, the affected sectors being those of the new constructions (-13.8%), of the capital repair works (-13.3%) and of the maintenance and current repairs (-10.9%).
