Teachers who are no longer involved in their work will soon have unpleasant surprises. The Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, had a meeting with the representatives of the education unions to establish the steps to identify some criteria for the differentiated salary of teachers in the pre-university education system based on performance criteria. According to the ministry: "The Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, had a meeting with the representatives of the representative federations at the level of the pre-university and higher education activity sector, the Federation of Free Trade Unions in Education, the Federation of Trade Unions in Education "Spiru Haret" and the National Trade Union Federation "Alma Mater », for establishing the steps to identify some criteria for the differentiated salary of teachers in the pre-university education system based on performance criteria".
According to the cited source, during the discussion it was agreed, as a first step, to set up a working group made up of representatives of the Ministry of Education and representatives appointed by the representative trade union federations, to elaborate the Methodology project regarding the differentiated remuneration of teaching staff based on certain criteria of performance. The calendar of activities will be established at the first meeting of the working group, the same source claims. The meeting takes place in the context of the recent recommendations of the OECD regarding pay based on performance criteria, as well as in the context of Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu's support for a pay reform.
