Several hundred ethnic Hungarian students, in their last year of high school, have enrolled in the Romanian language courses that will be organized by UDMR Covasna starting next week and until mid-June, with the aim of helping them take the exam of Baccalaureate. According to the representatives of UDMR Covasna, the courses are free and will take place in the localities of Sfântu Gheorghe, Baraolt and Târgu Secuiesc. Ilyes Piroska, councilor within UDMR Covasna said: "More than 210 people have signed up so far, 156 from Sfântu Gheorghe, 21 from Baraolt and 39 from Târgu Secuiesc, and registrations continue until March 7 (...) The interest is indeed very high, considering the results of the previous years. They are, in fact, Romanian language preparation courses that we organize to help students to have more chances at the Baccalaureate. So, this the goal is to help students from the 12th grade, but in the future we want the program to be expanded, because 11th grade students are also interested". The courses, organized in collaboration with the Eurotrans Foundation, will take place between March 11 and June 16, and graduates from previous years who did not take the Baccalaureate exam can also register for them.
