Electrocarbon Slatina, specializing in the production of industrial electrodes, announced in a press release sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange that it expects to make a gross profit of only 4.9 million lei, more than three times less than last year"s 17.9 million lei. According to the Revenue and Expense Budget which was approved in the beginning of this week, the company expects 220 million lei in revenues, up 31% over last year"s annual revenues of 167.7 million lei. The company also plans to make investments which are expected to amount to 24.6 million lei.
Investors in the company have also approved the signing of a contract with the Administration of the Environment which would allow the company to obtain 19.2 million lei in grants for the construction of a hydroelectric plant on the Doftana river, in the county of Prahova. The company will also borrow up to 6 million lei to finance the works for the construction of the hydroelectric plant.
The shareholders have also approved the expansion by June 30, 2012 of two overdraft loans of 2.8 million Euros, and 3 million dollars respectively, as well as the purchase of fixed assets, using leasing, with a limit of up to 1 million Euros.
Electrocarbon is controlled by Vivaio Câmpina, which holds 50.8% of the shares. Two other companies - Metaleuroest Câmpina and Ekomin Titu - hold 21.3% and 20.5%, respectively.
