EnglishNatural gas distributor E.ON Gaz Distributie, operating in Northern Romania, has invested 1.5 million EUR to implement a modern system for reading gas meters. Some 1.3 million consumers across 20 counties in Romania will benefit from faster and more efficient meter reading based on a meter barcode and a mobile reading terminal. After meters are read with the mobile terminals, the information is downloaded directly into the company"s billing application thus reducing the time required by the previous procedure and eliminating the risk of typos during manual input.
