European unions yesterday expressed their skepticism concerning the efficiency of the measures presented by the European Commission to stimulate job creation and the economy of the EU, AFP reports, according to Agerpres.

"The proposals of the Commission will not contribute in any way to the creation of quality jobs if the European Union and its member states persist in imposing rigid budget austerity rules", the European Confederation of Unions said in a press release.

"On the contrary, cutting deficits with the recession in full swing will only make it worse and will lead to higher unemployment rates", the CES said, which brings together 85 European Union organizations.

On Wednesday, the European Executive presented proposals to relaunch the creation of jobs, as the average unemployment rate in Europe stands above 10%.
