Representatives of private companies, public companies, but also of public institutions such as the National Bank of Romania, Financial Supervision Authority, ANRE, and internationally awarded students in various fields were rewarded with various prizes by the European Women's Patronage of Business (PEFA) during the third edition of the "Excellence in Business" Gala, an event hosted by the Government of Romania, in the Transilvania room of the Victoria Palace.

The Business Excellence Gala is one of the barometers of the national economy, offering a real picture of the best-performing business sectors, the best-performing companies and public institutions, while promoting an ethical and responsible business climate.

In the opening of the event, Andreea Negru, the president of PEFA, stated that the role of this patronage is to support the ladies in everything that means their evolution not only in society and in business, but also in politics, "especially since we are in an election year and we believe that women can be elected and appointed to leadership positions in our country", and reviewed the main achievements of the patronage in the current year.

As for excellence, Andreea Negru stated: "We are at the third business excellence gala, a new concept this year because alongside the private sector we have brought to public attention state institutions and national companies that prove they can perform in favorable or less favorable conditions depending on the field of activity. Today we are here to applaud the performance, to be aware that together we can contribute to sustainable and sustainable economic development".

Victoria Stoiciu, state adviser in the Prime Minister's Chancellery, said: "We are no longer a poor country, although we have gotten used to this idea in the last three decades. If we look at the World Bank ranking, Romania has been among the states with high per capita incomes for several years now, which is extraordinary news, a situation to which both the public policies developed and implemented by the Government and business environment in our country. (...) Today's event also records the social responsibility of the business environment. I think that the role of a company is not only to generate profit, but also to be responsible towards a community, towards the members of the society in which it operates".

For his part, Mircea Abrudean, the General Secretary of the Government, reminded that leadership in business is very important, because we need business models, just as we also need models in the public area, models that encourage us to move forward. Mircea Abrudean added: "We also need innovation, the ability to respond to global changes, and that's why I reaffirm the Government's commitment to supporting the business environment, to the creation of a stable and predictable economic framework that stimulates investments, innovation and entrepreneurship. We want to strengthen the partnership between the public and private sectors, to build an environment conducive to development".

Florin Jianu, former president of CNIPMMR, vice president of PSD for the business environment, said: "The European Patronage of Business Women is one of the last members of the National Council of Small and Medium Private Enterprises in Romania during my mandate. PEFA does not lower the standard at all because the leadership of this patronage has set out to have the events and everything they do go from Victoria Palace upwards, especially since it has come to represent 30,000 employees, which means a lot, especially since everyone who works for the representation of the business environment knows how difficult it is to pick up the pieces and be able to represent this environment honestly and honestly. And the European Patronage of Business Women grows organically, healthily, is concerned with excellence in business and today's gala is a crowning of the work done. (...) I saw that in Romania the companies that are listed on the stock exchange and are managed by women are above the European average, which is a great thing. I think we need to start behaving like a developed country from an economic point of view, but also socially, in everything we do, to put forward the models of excellence. There are statistics at the European level that show us that we are above the EU average regarding entrepreneurship, even in terms of female entrepreneurial intensity, but I want us to reflect in the next period on the number of women working in the so-called STEM concept - engineering - mathematics). This is where we have to lean more rigorously, with more attention because innovation and innovation come from this area and we can be champions in these areas as well".

The event organized by PEFA brought together successful leaders and entrepreneurs who demonstrate that excellence and business innovation are the pillars of economic development. The Business Excellence Gala is an opportunity to share ideas, celebrate performance and highlight the importance of supporting women entrepreneurs in all economic sectors.
