The scenario of a conflict in Ukraine has become increasingly likely, as the forces involved in this conflict - the Ukrainian army, Russia, the US - are ready to intervene. Already, the violent fights in the region have caused victims.
BURSA has succeeded in getting an interview from an undercover agent involved in this conflict. Here is what he told us.
Reporter: Will we have a war in Ukraine?
Agent: The Russian army in Crimea and on the borders of Ukraine is ready for action.
In the Odessa region, the pro-Russian federalists want to get even. Kiev has slowly lost its control over the region.
Nobody forgives what has happened in Odessa.
Blood is the most powerful argument in any conflict.
When Russia took over Crimea, nobody was hurt.
Now the Ukrainian army is attacking and it has began military action.
Each new victim is causing peace to become increasingly distant.
The Ukrainians should have negotiated with Vladimir Putin rather than wait for the West to force Russia to accept their wishes.
The tragedy has begun, and now nobody has control of the situation anymore. There are regular clashes and the number of people that are dying or getting hurt is increasing.
Certainly, Russian volunteers will take part in the conflict from Ukraine. As a result, no one can accuse Russia of a military intervention. But in fact, this thing could fool armed people into intervening and aiding the separatism.
Reporter: What is the main stake of the conflict in Ukraine?
Agent: Vladimir Putin wants to slowly rebuild the influence of the Soviet Union in its years of glory. And he has found the excuse to do that - the expansion of NATO to the East.
The intention of the Russian president is to gain as much territory as possible in Ukraine.
Right now nobody can stop the Russians. It would be a good thing if Ukraine agreed to the federalization of the country, because that is the only way we will have peace, at least for a while.
Agent: As for the Republic of Moldova, the Russians' intention is to start the conquest of that territory from Transnistria.
Reporter: What is your comment in Germany's position in this conflict?
Agent: Russia has paid off almost all of the German Bundestag. Bribery is ubiquitous, it's only the amounts that matter.
Former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, former leader of the German social-democrats and currently on the Board of Directors of Gazprom, is a very close friend of Vladimir Putin and «he is doing his job well» among the members of the German parliament.
If Angela Merkel had a different position, it wouldn't help her, because she would be faced with a strong opposition.
Vladimir Putin has very powerful friends, very powerful, as does Russia.
Angela Merkel has her hands tied. She depends on the governing coalition and on the business sector.
For example, on one hand, she supports a unified position of Europe when it comes to the acquisition of natural gas, but on the other hand she said that she can't intervene in support of that goal, because it is private companies, rather than state owned ones, that are negotiating the acquisition of the natural gas. This means that the German state has no influence on the private sector, it means that the German state does not want the unification of the gas price, because the Germans wouldn't pay less for it.
Reporter: What can you tell us about the position of the UK in this conflict?
Agent: Make the difference between the reality and what you are seeing in the press.
I can tell you that one of these days, Vladimir Putin organized a reunion in Sankt Petersburg, where he gathered his oligarchs and has asked them to withdraw 5 billion Euros from London.
And then he called prime-minister David Cameron and told him that be could withdraw even more, and permanently.
I think that the British official realized what the consequences would be.
Reporter: What can you tell us about the negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, the EU and the US?
Agent: A major success, which Russia achieved recently, is the recent negotiation, without the US, between the European Union, Ukraine and Russia, concerning the current state of conflict and the provision of natural gas to Europe. It is very important that the negotiations are being carried out "on the home field", without the US.
The current situation is very dynamic.
Barack Obama is trying to have Angela Merkel on his side.
But every day, Russia is negotiating on its own with every important European country - Great Britain, Germany, Italy, France.
It is about all I can tell you.
Reporter: Thank you!
