FATA Agricultural Insurance, a member of Generali Group, is aiming for 6.5 million EUR in premiums and 150,000 EUR in profit this year, according to General Manager Anghel Bughila. "For 2007, we intend to subscribe 6.5 million EUR, of which 70% from agricultural insurance," he said, adding that it was too early to speak of a market share as the company was just defining its organization. On medium-term, Burghila expects a 30% growth in subscribed premiums and a 60-70% percent increase in profit.
The agricultural insurance division of Generali took over Asigurari Global in the autumn of 2006. The company later became FATA Agricultural Insurance and managed to subscribe 1.5 million EUR in premiums between November 1st and December 15th 2006. The Y2006 results included losses of 200,000 EUR.
