Four of the most important financial analysts have established a trade association to optimize and consolidate the applicable legal framework and to advocate the professional interests of the members. The Association of Financial - Banking Analysts in Romania (AAFBR) intends to lobby for the legal acknowledgement of the title of financial - banking analyst. The Association also aims to educate the general public regarding the banking business. They are planning to publish analyses and studies about the banking system and make various recommendations regarding various economic initiatives.
The Association will be steered by a Steering Committee comprising the four founding members, Lucian Anghel - Chief Economist of the Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR) as Chairman, Radu Craciun - Investment Director of Interamerican Pensii Private as Vice Chairman, Ionut Dumitru - Chief Economist of Raiffeisen Bank as Vice Chairman and Florian Libocor - Economic Analyst of BRD - GSG as Vice Chairman. The Association accepts any member who has university education in economics or whose activity justifies the membership. Applicants need a recommendation from one of the members of the Steering Committee and have to pay an annual membership fee.
