IT&C and home appliances retailer Flamingo International expects an increase in PC sales this year due to the good results obtained in the previous editions of the Euro 200 program, according to a company press release. Euro 200 is a social program initiated by the Romanian government which enables low-income families to acquire computers for their children. Each year, the beneficiaries of the Euro 200 program can buy PCs from Flamingo, Flanco and Flanco World stores with coupons distributed by the government.
In the past three years, Flamingo International recorded the highest sales volume for PCs due to the Euro 200 program, Flamingo Group reaching a 35% market share. Flamingo International Group operates four retail chains: Flanco, Flanco World, Flamingo Computers, Future Shop and IT distributor FDC.
Flamingo International is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange as of June 2005. The company reported a turnover of 35 million EUR for the first quarter of the current year.
