Romlag SA - Brasov employees continued protests yesterday demanding that the directors resign immediately. They did not work and picketed the head office claiming that the management had driven the company on the verge of bankruptcy and their jobs were on the line. The management tried to talk to the protesters, but no conclusion emerged.
Earlier this year, Romlag employees protested in front of the Brasov County Court demanding that the company be investigated in relation to a 2,000,000 lei debt to the Brasov County Public Finance Directorate. In their opinion, the debt is to be paid by the directors, not the employees.
At the time, the employees also demanded an audit of a loan taken by the company from Banca Carpatica, as well as of the investments made between 2002 and 2008. Yet another accusation is that the management sold the company"s proprietary hotel, but the money never reached the company"s accounts. The management declined comment on all accusations.
