GarantiBank offers its customers a flexible grace period of three months, in which they will pay no interest rate or fees, for all loans taken out until December 31st 2009, according to a press release by the bank.
Customers can benefit from this 3-month period at any time within the first three years since taking out of the loan. The three months can be used all at once or separately, according to the borrower"s needs.
All loans taken out by individuals are eligible for this grace period: real estate loans, mortgage backed loans for construction, personal loans with insurance policy, personal loans with security interest, car loans.
Okan Yurtsever, Director of Retail Banking & Bancassurance, at GarantiBank, said: "The flexibility allowed in using this three month period will allow customers to take a break in paying the loan when the need to do so arises due to unforeseen events that strain their financial resources. For instance, if school is beginning and they need to buy the required supplies and books, or if the car needs to be repaired, our customers have the possibility to postpone the payment of the installment, in months when their expenses increase. All they have to do is notify this to the branch that they took the loan out from."
