The Ministry of the Economy yesterday announced that the provision of natural gas is happening normally and that over the course of the following days will remain around 8.9 million cubic meters/day. The Ministry issued this statement in order to counter the statements of Deputy Iulian Iancu, who said that Romania is getting ready to lower its imports of natural gas and that there will be disruptions in the gas supply. According to a press release by the Ministry, yesterday"s consumption was 63.1 million cubic meters, of which 32.2 million cubic meters were produced domestically and, 22 million came from the gas reserves and the difference came from imports. The imported amounts are within the provisions of the medium and long term contracts with the gas importers.
