318,9 million lei turnover during the first nine months
"Generali Asigurări" logged gross written premiums of 318,9 million lei (87,7 million Euros) for the first nine months of 2008, up 13,5% from the same period of last year, amid a 50% rise of the unit-linked life insurance segment, the company announced yesterday, according to NewsIn.
For the first nine months of 2007, "Generali Asigurări" logged gross written premiums of 281 million lei.
Life insurance had an impressive growth, growing 50%, to 63,7 million lei, from 42,4 million lei as against the 2007 January-September period, the press release states.
Individual insurance policies make up 80% of the group"s life insurance portfolio, with the remaining 20% consisting of group insurance policies.
"Unit linked life insurance policies recorded a growth of 242%, up to 10,8 million lei, as against January-September 20082008 in original... daca e vorba de comparatie, nu ar trebui sa fie 2007?", the press release also states.
For the period in question, non-life insurance policies grew by 7%, up to 255,1 million lei, as opposed to 238,6 million lei in the January-September 2007 period.
The best selling types of insurance policies in this segment were Casco insurance (147,8 million lei), RCA (31,3 million lei) and home insurance (24,9 million lei), which logged a 55% growth as against the last year"s similar period, according to the company.
Generali Asigurări is a member of Generali PPF Holding BV, company operating in 13 countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Generali PPF Holding BV is a joint venture of Assicurazioni Generali (51%) and PPF Group (49%).
