The Private Pension System Supervisory Commission (CSSPP) has authorized Generali Fond de Pensii (Generali Pension Fund) to register as a private pension company (Pillar II). Based on this authorization, the company registered with the Trade Registry as a public limited company (shares company) managing a private pension fund, according to a press release from Generali. The company has also applied for approval on the proposed pension scheme. The new company has a share capital of 14 million RON, of which Generali Holding Vienna owns 99.99%.
"We"re in the final lap regarding the procedures to establish Generali Fond de Pensii, as well as the operational arrangements for starting doing business under optimal circumstances so that we may accomplish our objective, namely 300,000 customers, equal to a market share of 10-12 percent," said Ioan Vreme, Managing Director of Generali Fond de Pensii.
The company is part of Generali Group, one of the leading insurers in Europe, established some 175 years ago. Generali Group comprises 126 financial holdings and 113 insurance companies having over 30 million customers and 66,000 employees across the world. The last reported turnover is 64.5 billion EUR.
