"Gerocossen" is a major player on the cosmetic products market, especially in the hair dye products segment. The company has been one of the top five brands for the last four years, sales-wise. The company"s market share is 9,9%, thus holding the fourth spot on the mid-price market, and the fifth spot in the overall cosmetic maker ranking.

Stanca Cismaru, General Manager of "Gerocossen" SRL, stated: "In an increasingly competitive market, our company sells over 100 cosmetic products which use natural ingredients (mainly skin cleansing, care and maintenance products) and two hair-dye brands intended for women: Gerocossen - permanent dye (24 colours) and Gerocossen Color Plus - extra quality permanent dye with added protection. Hair-dye sales represent 50% of the company"s total sales volume".

The market for skin care products is currently in an upward trend, with major rises from one year to the next. The most sought after products are wrinkle creams, hydrating and nutritional creams. The company"s Gerocossen Natural wrinkle creams hold the third spot on the market, sales-wise.

Consumers are becoming increasingly demanding and also increasingly aware of the need to take care of their skin with specialized products, which will lead to a major growth in the market for such products in the coming years, claims Stanca Cismaru. Mrs. Cismaru further added: "At the same time, consumers are becoming increasingly demanding, and a lot more selective in choosing their sunscreen products. They know how to choose their protection factor based on their type of skin and have made their choice between the types of sunscreen products, either cream or oil. Given this evolution, Gerocossen has created products with a protection factor ranging from 6 to 25 and also products with a protection factor of 30 and 50, both in cream and oil form. Two of the company"s special products are Gerocossen sun-protection cream for SPF 30 and Gerocossen sun cream ultra protection SPF 50 (which contain 100% sunblock products), which are complemented by the after-sunbath balm".

"Gerocossen" holds the fifth spot among the sunscreen makers, sales-wise. Sunscreen creams and lotions represent 8,5% of the company"s total sales.

Apart from the products mentioned above, "Gerocossen" also makes shampoos, hair gels and masks, depilatory products, products for men etc.

In 2008, the company launched the Gerocossen Activa Hydraferm-hydrating formula (four main products based on an expensive combination of olive oil and hyaluronic acid), Gerocossen Herbals, the body care product range (which includes four products) and Gerocossen Summer Skin (products for gradual tanning, with a natural and even look).

The company"s managers are optimistic about next year"s growth being equal to the one for 2008.

Stanca Cismaru stated: "The company succeeded in increasing its foreign turnover by 150% compared to 2007. We export to Italy, Morocco, Kuwait, Spain, and in 2009 we intend to start exporting to other countries. Next year we will also focus on increasing exports, redesigning some products in our catalog, as well as creating new ones ".

"Gerocossen" products are made from natural ingredients and have quality certificates from "TUV Cert" and "Germanischer Lloyd".

Stanca Cismaru, general manager of "Gerocossen", stated: "In 2008, our sales will reach 3,5 million Euros, which represents a 10% growth YTY. We will reach this target even though we faced a lot of problems, caused in particular by the price increase for raw materials, and by the devaluation of the Leu etc".
