Heineken Romania reported a 16% year-on-year increase in turnover in the first half of 2008, reaching the total of 390 million RON (net, January-June 2008). "Considering that beer producers are dealing with fast cost growth and intensified competition as a consequence of the slow growth of the beer market, our focus on the growth in value became stronger. This fact is already obvious from the profit made in 2007 and confirmed by the good results from the first half of 2008," said Edwin Botterman, CEO of Heineken Romania. As announced in March 2008, Heineken Romania will invest over 50 million Euro mainly in the capacity of the beer factories and fixed assets.
