Hidroelectrica is considering investing in wind farm production. The manager of the company, Mihai David, yesterday said in a press conference: "We are considering collaboration with three Romanian companies, of which we are going to pick one. We want to get involved in a project of up to 100 MW installed power. For now discussions are at a very early stage".
He said that two days ago, the company signed an agreement for an EUR 60 million loan, of which it will soon draw half of the amount. The company still has ongoing negotiations for three other loans of 30, 70 and 135 million Euros.
The general manager of Hidroelectrica did not want to reveal the names of the banks with which he has concluded agreements or is still negotiating for loans: "The company needs to make investments worth EUR 300 million. Since it"s currently rather difficult to secure such an amount from a single bank, we are negotiating with several banks. The EUR 135 million loan is from a foreign bank. The most recent interest rate for the loans we have taken out is 5.2%+EURIBOR".
Hidroelectrica recently signed two more loan contracts of around EUR 50 million.
