EnglishAustrian-based HTI High Tech Industries has announced plans to resize plants in Germany and Austria and relocate car parts production to Slovakia and Romania, where they already produce car parts. The decision is intended to optimize production amid a world economic slowdown and help restructure the car parts division, HTP Automotive. The relocation will be completed by the end of 2008 in order to contribute to the financial results of 2009. HTI sales reached 99.8 million EUR in the first half of the year, up by 33.4% from the 74.8 million EUR reported for the corresponding period of 2007. The company announced that sales targets for 2008 and 2009 were 200 million EUR and, respectively, 270-300 million EUR.
