Spanish airline Iberia will introduce two weekly flights between Madrid and Bucharest on Saturdays and Sundays as of March 3rd to service the numerous Romanian community in Spain, Travel Daily News announced and was quoted by NewsIn. The airline has also introduced regular flights between Madrid and Algiers following growing demand from Spanish businesspeople and Algerian residents in Spain. Iberia will use Airbus A-319 and A-320 aircraft. At the end of 2005, some 200,000 Romanians were living in Spain legally. Unofficial estimates indicate that another 600,000 Romanians were living in Spain illegally at that time. Iberia was established in 1927 and currently covers 100 destinations worldwide. The company carried 32.4 million passengers in 2005 when they posted 395.8 million EUR in net profit.
