The Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) reported an impressive volume of futures contracts volumes for the first six months of the year, ranking fourth among the most active capital markets in Europe after EUREX, Liffe NYSE Euronext and OMX, according to a WSE press release. Specifically, over 6 million futures contracts were concluded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in the first six months of the year.
The WSE also recorded an important volume of initial public offerings between April and June 2009, outranking the other European markets in terms of volume, according to the latest IPO market monitoring report for Europe. Specifically, the WSE recorded seven initial public offerings that raised a total of 126 million EUR, placing the WSE second among European exchanges in terms of value after the London Stock Exchange.
