InBev Romania sales rose by 40% from the same period last year, this being InBev"s highest increase in Central and Eastern Europe. In the first quarter, InBev CEE sales reached seven million hectoliters, increasing by 22,7% from Q1 2006, according to a company press release.
In May 2007, Interbrew Romania SA merged with Interbrew Efes Brewery SA and changed its name to InBev Romania SA.
The company ranks third in the brewing industry, with a 22% market share at end-2006. InBev Romania produces the brands Stella Artois, Beck"s, Bergenbier, Lowenbrau and Noroc and imports Belgian brands Leffe and Hoegaarden.
