"Inflation" of scholarships at the "Ion Ionescu de la Brad" University of Life Sciences in Iaşi

Approximately half of the students of the University of Life Sciences "Ion Ionescu de la Brad" from Iaşi (USV) will receive scholarships thanks to the grades obtained after taking the exams in the first session of this academic year 2023-2024. The vice-rector for social activities within USV Iaşi, Vasile Stoleru, stated that the value of the scholarships will be higher, the amount allocated for young people studying in the field of engineering being increased by the Ministry of Education. Thus, the smallest performance scholarship will have a value of 1,050 lei, and the largest 1,500 lei per month. Vasile Stoleru stated: "Thanks to the results obtained in the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, over 1,300 scholarships will be awarded at USV Iaşi, which represents 42.5% of the total budgeted students. We can also state that academic performance scholarships , scientific, merit, social, campus and those for artistic or sports activities that we allocate to our students are secured from budget revenues and own revenues made by the University. By the end of this week, they will enter the students' accounts and the scholarships on which we decided to grant them from our own income". USV Iaşi also grants scholarships from its own income for students of other citizenships, from undergraduate and master's studies, scholarships from the Romanian state. At USV Iasi, the social scholarship has a value of 900 lei, the IV, III and II performance scholarships have values of 1,050 lei, 1,150 lei and 1,275 lei respectively, and the value of the academic performance scholarship I is 1,500 lei . Scholarships from own income have the value of 900 lei, as well as scholarships for sports, cultural-artistic or campus performances.
