Intercapital Invest, one of the most active independent brokerage firms in Romania, will enter a consortium with JP Morgan and BCR to intermediate the secondary offer of OMV Petrom (SNP), stock market sources quoted by Mediafax claim. Last year, Intercapital in partnership with BCR attended the call for bids for the selection of the intermediary of the listing of the Proprietatea Fund (FP), and in 2005 it entered a consortium with JP Morgan for the listing of Romtelecom on the stock exchange, which never materialized.
This year, the Romanian state wants to sell 9.84% of the shares of OMV Petrom, out of the 20.63% stake it still holds in the company. The secondary offer, valued at 500 million Euros, will be the greatest in the history of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). On March 9th, the Ministry of the Economy will select the company or the consortium of brokerages that will intermediate the offer. Five more consortiums will attend this auction.
