Starting in 2011, investors will also be able to buy or redeem shares in the funds managed by "Certinvest" using their phones.
"The phone subscription and buyback procedure is nearing completion, and will become operational in January 2011", the officials of the management company said yesterday.
Eugen Voicu, a veteran of the fund management industry, has bought back "Certinvest" from the Aviva Financial Group, in September this year. In December 2003, Voicu sold the majority stake in "Certinvest" to the RAEF (Romanian-American Investment Fund).
In November 2007, Certinvest was acquired by British Aviva International Group, which bought the 70% stake of RAEF and Eugen Voicu"s 30% holding. In September 2008, Certinvest changed its name to Aviva Investors România and joined the other investment management companies of the Aviva group.
Name changes for the "Certinvest" funds
The representatives of "Certinvest" yesterday announced that the open mutual funds managed by the company will change their names starting with November 26th, in order to reflect the change of their manager and the additional class of instruments they will be targeting. Thus, the Diversified Defensive Fund "Aviva Investors Capital Plus" will be named "Certinvest Prudent", The Dynamic Diversified Fund "Aviva Investors Intercapital" will be renamed "Certinvest Dinamic", the bond fund "Aviva Investors Orizont" will become "Certinvest Obligaţiuni" (ed. note: Certinvest Bonds), the money market fund "Aviva Investors Tezaur" will be called "Certinvest Monetar", and the index fund "Aviva Investors XT Index" will be renamed "Certinvest XT Index".
