The mass-media crisis creates hilarious situations, like the thing that happened yesterday with "Ziarul Financiar", which dedicated an entire page to the subject of bankruptcy, while at the same time, Daily Business published the news that "Porsche Leasing România" IFN and "Porsche Broker" have requested the bankruptcy of the publisher of "Ziarul Financiar", "Publimedia Internaţional" S.A.
Furthermore, the website "Money.ro" mentions that "Publimedia" is almost two months and EUR 45,000 behind with its leasing payments for 17 vehicles.
There is a rumor going around that a few months ago, Porsche repossessed the cars it leased to Publimedia.
The Porsche group is the third creditor to take action against "Publimedia".
The first was the Romanian Tax Authority, which opened the enforcement procedure against "Publimedia", for overdue debts to the state budget amounting to 3.3 million lei.
The second was the paper manufacturer "Letea", which called for the bankruptcy of "Publimedia" for an unpaid debt of almost 1.3 million lei.
Publimedia"s total debt exceeds 1 million Euros.
"Ziarul Financiar" yesterday had an editorial on the subject of bankruptcy, which featured the following quote: "According to data presented by the Romanian Union of Insolvency and Reorganization Practitioners, just 2% of the companies filing for bankruptcy successfully manage a turnaround, while the rest go bankrupt".
Good gracious!
Never mention rope in the house of a man who has been hanged!
In the case of the "Realitatea" Group, let"s remember the "natural business born" seven journalists that launched "The Money Channel". Their video bios named each one in turn, while a deep imposing voice solemnly announced: "This is What"s-Her-Name, perhaps What"s-Her-Name will help you avoid bankruptcy!" and culminated with the phrase "Natural business born".
Well these "naturals" had no role whatsoever in the shutdown of "Business Standard", just like they couldn"t keep "Cotidianul" from going bankrupt.
Most likely, the owner of the media group did not consult with them, even though they were his employees.
And since we"re on the subject of awkward lines by people working in the media, it"s worth mentioning the monumental Andrei Gheorghe, who in an interview which appeared three days ago, said about his former boss, the current Minister of Finance Sebastian Vlădescu: "He doesn"t understand communication!"
Andrei Gheorghe obviously knows what he"s talking about when it comes to communication: less than two days after he had gone on TV saying "Yes, I smoked weed!", he got thrown in the slammer.
From whence Adrian Sîrbu got him out by flexing his muscles (figuratively speaking).
At the same time, the prosecutor that ordered the arrest was fired.
Now that"s communication!
That Sebastian Vlădescu, he really is clueless!
