EnglishKirchhoff, the leading German manufacturer of Ford parts, is going to start a factory in Craiova to manufacture parts for the US-based carmaker, according to Dolj County Council chairman Ion Prioteasa quoted by NewsIn. "We met with the largest German manufacturer of Ford parts late last week. They are the first company to have expressed interest in coming to Craiova since Ford bought Automobile Craiova. They said Ford had clearly told them that if the wanted to keep working for Ford, they had to invest in Craiova," Prioteasa said.
The Dolj County Council official also announced that Kirchhoff was going to build a car part factory near Craiova. "There is no doubt that they will come here. They are going to build a Ford part factory near Craiova. We would have very much liked to provide them with a piece of land in the industrial park, but unfortunately we do not have enough. They said they needed at least five hectares," Prioteasa said.
The US-based carmaker announced investments of some 675 million EUR to bring Automobile Craiova to the desired parameters in six or seven months after acquisition. The sale contract was signed for 57 million EUR in Frankfurt on September 12th.
