EnglishLaborMed Pharma has inaugurated the most modern drug factory in Romania, which is located in District 3, Bucharest. The factory was built in compliance with EU GMP standards and will produce 1.5 billion pills per year, which is almost five times more than the Y2006 output. The value of the greenfield investment amounts to 13 million EUR. The design and contruction process took two years. The factory will be provided with state-of-the-art equipment, imported from countries like Austria, Germany and Italy, and assisted in the testing phase by foreign specialists.
The new factory is built on a surface area of 13.400 sqm, the buildable surface being 4. 410 sqm. The factory will produce all 80 generic drugs in the company"s portfolio. Labormed Pharma will also introduce seven new prescription drugs following intense investment in research.
For this year, the company targets a turnover of 35 million EUR and a market share of 2,1% - 2,2%. LaborMed Pharma posted sales of 26 million EUR for 2006, gaining 32,4% from 2005 and climbing 9% above the overall market indices. The company therefore advanced to the top 15 pharmaceutical companies in Romanian and remained the only local private drug maker in this top.
