Lactalis Group has acquired the dairy division of LaDorna Group, a press release indicates. "LaDorna stands for a strong tradition of quality products, a brand that has been built and consolidated over the years (...). We will develop this company, which is already organized on principles compatible to ours," said Lactalis CEO Emmanuel Besnier.
Lactalis announced plans to make several investments and expand milk collection areas. LaDorna CEO Jean Valvis said he was certain that Lactalis would diversify the product portfolio and ensure an excellent perspective for the development of the BIO sector.
"This development is based on the process of transforming the first bio-environmental farms, which LaDorna initiated in the Carpathians in 2001," the press release indicates.
Lactalis is based in Laval, Mayenne, France and operates in 150 countries worldwide. The group derives some 9.6 billion EUR in turnover, employs 33,500 people and operates on 125 industrial platforms. LaDorna has 1,200 employees on 8 industrial platforms and reported 40 million EUR in Y2007 turnover. LaDorna has a proprietary distribution and sales network in Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine and Greece.
