Investment fund MEI Roemenie & Bulgarije Fonds, headquartered in the Netherlands, has acquired a 5.95% stake in Ploiesti based Rompetrol Well Services. In the past two weeks, 10.8 million PTR shares (equaling 11.64% in the company) changed hands, the transactions totalling 22.02 million RON. The seller, Rompetrol Group NV, reduced its stake in the company from 70.40% to 58.76%.
Shareholders in Rompetrol Well Services have approves a share capital increase by 4.64 million RON to 13.91 million RON, the amount coming from company reserves.
Rompetrol Well Services reported a net profit of 2.68 million RON for the first quarter of 2007, recording a 13.72% increase from the same periad last year. Turnover rose by 26.37% in the first three months, amounting to 17.6 million RON. The company is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange as PTR.
