EnglishThe former Menarom PEC will hire back 250 of the 410 employees laid off by Menarom - Galati and resume production as of October 8th. "For the moment, this is how many people we are going to need, considering that the new company starts from scrap," said Dan Gabriel Cristea, Deputy General Manager of Menarom PEC. The selection was made based on individual performance within the old company.
"We will resume production on October 8th. Generally speaking we have managed to retain the customer portfolio, including the customers in Oradea to whom we used to deliver some 70-80% of the output," Cristea added. According to Adrian Comsa, the new owner of the company, the newly hired employees will receive a raise of some 30% against their former salary and, if performance is good, more will follow in January 2008, when a new framework employment contract is slated for sign-off.
