Midocar, a Volkswagen and Audi dealer in Romania, estimates Y2007 sales of 1,500 units, which is above the estimate made at the beginning of the year. Ten months through the year, the company sold 940 VW units, bringing the all-year estimate to 1,150 for this brand. The results exceeded the initial target by 19% and the year-on-year figure by 22%.
The company managed to sell 27 VW Passat and Golf units to Novartis Pharma, 20 units to Hewlett Packard an 33 VW Polo units to Bunge. The customer portfolio also includes Oracle, Romastru Trading, Novo Nordisk and Johnson & Johnson.
So far through the year, sales have totaled 1,298 units and are scheduled to reach 1,500 by the year-end. Established in 1992, Midocar is the first Volkswagen dealer in Romania and has sold some 7,200 units in total.
Midocar concluded last year with a gross profit of 8.1 million RON (2.3 million EUR) up from 3.82 million RON (1.1 million EUR) in 2005. The turnover slightly rose to 72.78 million RON (20.7 million EUR) from 71.11 million RON (19.6 million EUR) in 2005. The average number of employees gained 10% from 137 to 154.
