Digitalization is a major objective in most sectors of activity, and achieving it requires an increasing number of people to possess relevant competencies. As a result of an investment of 16,788,220 euros from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), 100,000 Romanians will benefit from the development of digital skills, as announced by the Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digitalization, Bogdan Ivan: "Today's children learn from a young age how to use digital tools. My generation grew up with technology. However, for many of our parents and friends, it was necessary to find solutions for them to benefit from the advantages of the digital era. I hope we can help those around us keep up with the fantastic evolution of technology. Digital transformation doesn't just mean equipment and software; it also means the ability to use digital tools. We have launched for consultation the guide for investment I17 Funding Schemes for Libraries to become hubs for the development of digital skills within component C7 "Digital Transformation' of the PNRR, worth 16,788,220 euros." The investment has three priorities: renovating, including expanding, and equipping with computers and technical equipment for 60 rural, municipal, county, or town libraries, which will be transformed into hubs for the development of digital skills; upgrading and modernizing computer equipment in 650 libraries; developing basic skills for 100,000 Romanians in disadvantaged communities.
