Mittal Steel Roman reported a net profit of 6,73 million RON for 2006, down 4,6-fold from 2005, when the company"s net profit amounted to 28,30 million RON, according to a report to Rasdaq.
For 2006, the company reported a turnover of 921,87 million RON, up 18,8% compared to the previous year, when the Roman steel plant posted 775,46 million RON in turnover.
Mittal Steel Roman has a share capital of 36.11 million RON, divided into 14.44 million shares with a face value of 2,5 RON. Mittal Steel Holdings AG controls nearly 70% of the company, holding 10,08 million shares, while SIF Moldova holds 13,94% in the company.
Mittal Steel Roman shares are listed on Tier I of Rasdaq, under the symbol PTRO. Mittal Steel Roman (formerly known as Petrotub) was taken over at the end of 2003 by steel company Mittal, which also owns the former Sidex Galati, Siderurgica Hunedoara, Tepro Iasi, as well as the port operator Romportmet Galati.
