Moody"s late last week announced their decision to withdraw the ratings offered to Banca Comerciala Carpatica for business reasons and with the common agreement of the parties, a Moody"s press release indicates. Thus, Moody"s withdrew the rating "D," outlook: stable, offered for the financial soundness of the bank and the rating "Ba3," outlook: stable, offered for deposits in local and foreign currency.
Banca Comerciala Carpatica recently asked shareholders to approve an increase in share capital by 28 million RON from the current 201.25 million RON. If the motion carries, the bank will issue 280 million new shares with a face value of 0.1 RON, equal to the issuance value.
At the end of the first quarter of 2009, the bank reported losses of 11.63 million RON amid a 10% decrease in revenues. The bank concluded the first quarter of 2008 with a net profit of 2.64 million RON.
