So far through the year, Motorola has launched approximately ten products and is planning to maintain sales growth at least in line with the market growth. Motorola Romania has announced intent to launch at least four new products per quarter, with a distinct focus on the Christmas period. During a press conference yesterday, the company introduced the ROKR E8 mobile phone, which comes with the first haptic touch pad from Motorola, providing vibrating, tactile feedback when the user touches virtual buttons. Motorola Mobile Devices Sales Manager Gabriel Laranca said "ROKR E8 is both an MP3 player that enables users to have phone calls, and a mobile phone with exceptional audio functions." ROKR E8 comes with an embedded FM radio receiver and the ID tag display function for MP3 files. The device has an internal memory of 2 GB, expandable by up to 4 GB of external memory. It has a 2 MP photo camera with 8x zooming, Bluetooth Class 2, USB 2.0, EDGE Class 12 and the FstScroll navigation wheel. The recommended sale price is 180-200 EUR before taxes and subsidies.
