The sailors of the Romanian Naval Forces are participating with their counterparts from the United States of America, this week, in the multinational exercise "Sea Breeze 23.3", which will take place in the Black Sea and the Danube Delta, according to the press release issued by the General Staff of the Naval Forces . The exercise will involve forces and capabilities from Bulgaria, France, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Romania, the United States of America, Turkey and Ukraine dedicated to the fight against explosive devices.

"The Romanian Naval Forces participate in the multinational exercise with the maritime dredger 30 «Sublieutenant Alexandru Axente», the fast diving ship «Venus», the armored star 179 «Posada», fast boats of the RHIB type, EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) specialists , specialists from the Data Center for Mine Action under the Maritime Hydrographic Directorate, a platoon of marine infantrymen, three armored research amphibious transporters, assault boats and staff officers", the press release states.

On the US side, a P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft and EOD divers with boats and specific technique will participate, and on the part of the other states, divers and EOD specialists with specific technique and staff officers will participate, the quoted source said. .

The main objective of conducting Exercise "Sea Breeze 23.3" is to develop operational and tactical interoperability between the participating countries, in the field of combating explosive devices, especially drifting sea mines, in order to ensure freedom of navigation.
