The Brasov County Council has approved the transfer of the land and buildings of the "Dr. Ioan Aurel Sbarcea" Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital in Brasov into the possession of the hospital itself because the hospital is currently negotiating for World Bank financing to modernize the buildings. The meeting is set for this week. The World Bank has requested that the buildings to be modernized be placed under the hospital"s administration before allocating 7.7 million EUR for the modernization of the maternity ward. In fact, in the "90s, the land and the buildings were under the hospital"s administration but the Government decided in 2002 that they become public assets.
