Yes, they didn"t meet the quorum.
I had predicted this would happen one day in advance.
On Saturday, only 45% of the shareholders of the Bucharest Stock Exchange came to the Intercontinental hotel to discuss the three items on the agenda: the distribution of half of the trading capital of the BSE as dividends, the approval of the merger with Sibex and the amendment of the Bylaws on the matter of the cumulative vote.
Whereas it was predictable that the last two topics no longer draw the interest of brokers, it nevertheless remains somewhat of a surprise that they didn"t bother to vote on the sharing of the money of the Exchange, which they all covet.
But...
It"s summer, it"s hot, we are all only human, what are we working for?!, sometimes you feel like saying the hell with the money!, and you just turn on the other side in bed.
The people who attended the General Shareholder Meeting grabbed a bite and then they went to their homes.
Who had the most to gain from all this?
Why, the Intercontinental Hotel, of course.
P.S.: On the next day, on Saturday, the attendance of the General Shareholder Meeting was even lower (just 24% of the shareholders).
