Container carrier the Eleonora, ordered by the Dutch-based Veka, was launched last week at the Orsova Shipyard. Shipyard general manager Constantin Badoiu told Rompres that the 110 meter-long by 45 meter-wide by 3.9 meter-tall river ship was the 18th ship delivered to foreign customers in 2006 and the 186th ship built at Orsova after 1989. "In 2007, we have orders for 19 ships worth 180 million EUR. All of them will be exported," he said. Orsova Shipyard won the Quality Crown, Diamond Class, in London, 2005, for the quality of its products and holds numerous other awards.
