Yorgos Ioannidis is the new CEO of Romtelecom effective as of February 1st, 2007. He replaces James Hubley, who held this position for four years. "Mr. Hubley made a decisive contribution to the successful transformation of Romtelecom into a modern telecom operator and a financially successful company," said OTE CEO Panagis Vourloumis yesterday, during the press conference held to introduce the new CEO. Vourloumis added that Romtelecom accounted for 15% of OTE"s revenues and that it was time for the company to better integrate with the other group companies. Hubley managed to turn the company around from debts of 750 million EUR to dividends of 100 million EUR. The new CEO was previously the CEO of OTENET and Technical Director of OTE. His prime tasks include stopping the subscriber drain, streamlining the revenues and acquiring a WiMax license.
