Two of the most famous castles in our country are preparing for international recognition. The Minister of Culture, Raluca Turcan, announced that he is preparing the inclusion of Peleş and Pelişor castles in the UNESCO World Heritage List. According to the minister: "I had a first discussion at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture with the representatives of the National Institute of Heritage, the Peleş National Museum and the Association of His Majesty's House - The Royal House with which I established a working group to fulfill the procedural requirements for registration in the Indicative List of Romania for the UNESCO World Heritage List, from the identification of the management and management capacity, to the exact definition of the perimeters, to the fulfillment of the conditions of authenticity and integrity and the criteria regarding the exceptional universal value. Peleş and Pelişor Castles are not only historical monuments, authentic , exceptional, but also living destinations that reflect contemporary national identity. They function as museums, bringing history and culture to the fore in an interactive and accessible manner." Raluca Turcan also specified: "The royal residences in Sinaia impress with their beauty and architectural significance, representing a point of reference for Eastern Europe. Their exceptional value deserves to be recognized by UNESCO by inclusion in the World Heritage List. (...) We will initiate collaboration with other institutions with direct or indirect attributions on the Royal Domain from Sinaia in order to ensure the quality standards necessary for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List." The two castles are in the top of preferences for tourists visiting Prahova Valley.
